Approach
I engage and connect with my clients through active listening, conversations, intuition, and sometimes with a sense of humor, providing an empathetic, comfortable and collaborative space for them to work toward implementing change. In order to assist my clients in meeting their short-term and long-term goals, I am both compassionate and straightforward in order to provide encouragement, support and direction. I create a safe space, free of shame and judgement, for clients to explore the depths of their inner world and work toward having better and more fulfilling relationships - with the self and with others. Although I view things through a psychodynamic and attachment based lens, I use cognitive behavioral therapy tools, EMDR, mindfulness techniques and other therapeutic styles depending on what works best for the client.
My ultimate passion is helping clients break unhealthy relationship patterns and overcome the things blocking them from inner freedom and inner peace. One of the biggest rewards of being a therapist is watching the magical transition of people developing greater self-awareness, embracing their true self, trusting their inner voice, developing more intimate interpersonal relationships, and finding empowerment through living each day authentically.
In the face of worldly trauma and conflict, there is a current collective anxiety that many people are experiencing. So many people are living in fear, detached from their lives and emotion, and disconnected from their divine Self. I have a deep desire to help people be fully awake in their own lives by learning how to access their unconscious world, increase self-awareness, and develop tools to decrease suffering. In a safe, empathetic, warm, and nonjudgmental environment, I will lovingly challenge you to look at your constructed narratives, bring attention to the defense mechanisms that are no longer working for you, and explore your conscious and unconscious beliefs about yourself and the world.
Although I am trained in many therapeutic methods, I primarily operate from a psychodynamic/psychoanalytical lens. Additionally, I provide ISTDP (Intensive Short Term Dynamic Therapy) for people who are stuck, feel as though traditional talk therapy hasn’t lead to change, and are open to a more intensive therapy experience. I provide Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples/partners/relationships, and attachment-based EMDR as a tool to process trauma.
